Sweet Dreams Spray

1/2 cup distilled water
1 teaspoon witch hazel
5-6 drops lavender essential oil

Add ingredients to a clean spray bottle (at least 4 oz size).
Shake and spray on skin, into room or on fresh linens before bed or napping.

Immune Building Smoothie

This is something that would work particularly well for kids, but obviously for anyone.  This would be particularly helpful when dealing with recurrent health issues.  But, also if you are sending your kids to daycare, school, etc.

  • 2 cups milk, coconut milk or rice beverage
  • 1 cup plain  yogurt or kefir
  • one frozen banana, cut up
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup each of your favorite fruit, frozen (e.g., organic strawberries, papaya, mango)
  • 1 tbsp. flax oil or 2 tbsp. flaxseed meal (if you use the flax meal it will be kind of grainy, so for kids I'd recommend the oil)
  • 10 mg. zinc
  • 100 mcg. selenium
  • 50-100 IU vitamin E (avoid if gluten free or make sure it specified as GF)
  • 2 tbsp. peanut or other nut butter (optional)

Combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth. Serve immediately after blending while the mixture still has a bubbly milkshake-like consistency.

  • I know some these are probably not items you have on hand, but if you're really having a lot of sickness it might be worth it to invest in them.  Other helpful immune builders/strengtheners:  fresh garlic, Echinacea, vitamin C.

101 Natural Remedies That Worked for Me - Book now available

Included in this book you will find 101 natural remedies that worked for my family and me. These are remedies that I, or my family, have used, most of them over and over.

When we are experiencing symptoms, it is our body trying to eliminate that, which is making us sick.  Most herbal remedies are designed to give our body a “boost” in eliminating the illness. So, keep in mind that a fever is not a sickness; it is our body working to kill the illness in our body, or helping to fight it.  When our nose runs, we have a cough, rash, etc. This is merely a symptom of the illness in our body and usually when we treat the symptom, particularly with over the counter and prescription medicine, we are actually suppressing the illness and our body’s attempt to get rid of it.

The remedies covered in the book include:

Acne....... Antibiotic Recovery....... Canker Sores....... Circumcision....... Cough and Cold....... Cradle Cap....... Cuts...... Depression/Mental Health.....Diaper Rash.....Earache.......Eczema.....Feminine/Urinary Needs.....Flu....... Food Poisoning....... Hay Fever/Allergies....... Immune System Support and Health.......Kidney Stones.......Mental Health.......Muscle Aches and/or Sprains.......Nausea ....... Pink Eye.......Rheumatoid Arthritis....... Sleep Helpers....... Sore Throat....... Stye [Eye]....... Swelling Bruises....... Urinary Tract Health
